Kendriya vidyalaya Ghazipur was established in 1986 in the premises of Govt. Opium & Alkaloid Works Ghazipur on the bank of river Ganga. This vidyalaya is running under civil sector. Since the Govt. Opium & Alkaloid Works Ghazipur provided its building and land for running the vidyalaya, the Chairman of the VMC remains the General Manager of the Govt. Opium factory. In the very beginning it was started with primary classes.
